Winter Reading and Family Literacy Night

Thirty-three students turned in projects for the SMS Winter Reading program. Last week these students were rewarded for their participation in the program by being treated to hot cocoa, a muffin and game time in the library after lunch. Students wrote book reviews, created poster advertisements, made maps and wrote radio advertisements and songs for their reading projects.  One of the most impressive projects was a song written about the book Ender's Shadow that is sung to the tune of Journey's "Don't Stop Believing."  All students who participated were entered into a drawing to win a free SMS yearbook! 6th grader Jada Rice was the lucky winner. Congratulations Jada!
