NEW BOOKS!

A new book shipment has come in and another one in on the way.  Students are especially excited about the new hunting and football books. ALL of them were checked almost immediately. Favorite authors R.L. Stine and Walter Dean Myers have some new releases as well. 

HUNGER GAMES BOOK CLUB

The Hunger Games Book Club will hold its next meeting on Friday, November 18 during lunch period. You may bring your lunch to the library if you wish. New Tributes are welcome, but remember: all new Tributes must prove themselves in the arena  before becoming official Tributes or Game Makers. Only official Tributes and Game Makers will be allowed to remain at the meetings. Several new Tributes proved themselves worthy at the last meeting and we welcome them to the club. We look forward to introducing more new Tributes at our next meeting. This next meeting will be the last one to focus on book one of the Hunger Games Trilogy. In December, we will focus on book two, Catching Fire. This will put all Tributes back in the arena again! Get ready to prove yourself with your knowledge of Catching Fire, review if necessary! 

TECH PETTING ZOO

The library will be hosting a Tech Petting Zoo on Monday. Teachers are encouraged to stop by the library from 10-3 to take a play break and enjoy some refreshments. 

MINE CRAFT

HP  has provided us with another new game to try. This one is called Mine Craft. Come join the 8th grade lunch and after school gaming crowd to learn about new and interesting games. How can Mine Craft be used for educational projects? The possibilities are endless. Any suggestions?

 

TAKING NOTES

Mrs. Tazerouti looks forward to working with the 6th grade students on learning how to take notes for research purposes. Remember: Record your source information and don't write everything down word for word!

VETERANS DAY PROGRAM

SMS is presenting a program,  "A Salute to Veterans" honoring local Veterans on Thursday at 1pm. The library will host the reception. We look forward to being entertained by the band, chorus, orchestra and drama club at the program!
